Description

Domestic Short Hair-orange - Medium - Adult - Male - Cat - Rusty
Description
Rusty was one of a litter of 5 kittens that we fostered back in November of 2007. He was the baby of the bunch, such a tiny messy little fella, but he and his siblings did very well in our care. We were thrilled when Rusty was adopted close to Easter of 2008, and we truly thought Rusty had found a great home and family. Unfortunately, he was returned to us in May.  His family developed severe allergies - they tried everything they could to resolve the allergies without having to give up Rusty, but in the end, sadly, they felt they had no choice. It indeed took a while for him to make the adjustment away from the family that originally adopted him, but he has come around is very much a sweetheart of a cat. He loves attention, loves to be petted, and especially loves to have the underside of his chin scratched. He really grew up to a very handsome boy from his earlier kitten days. He is now available for adoption. We believe that Rusty is best suited for a home with adults and older children. He is also a little on the territorial side - in the year or so that he lived with the original family, he became very used to being the only cat and from all accounts, was very friendly with the small dog that shared the household with him. Since Rusty's been with us, he doesn't like sharing food with the other cats and he certainly lets the other cats know it. Because of this, Rusty may be better suited for a home where he can be the only cat. If you'd like to meet Rusty or learn more about him, contact me at Eagiehart@aol.com or contact the Acadiana Humane Society / Cat Ranch at (337) 668-4484. AHS can also be contacted by email at info@acadianahumane.org.Cats are tested for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. Cat adoptions are inside only and no declawing.
